    Description

    Join our dynamic pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Technician, where you'll play a vital role in supporting medication distribution for both inpatient and outpatient care. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment, values precision, and is passionate about patient safety and care.

    What You'll Do

    • Assist pharmacists in preparing and delivering medications accurately and efficiently

    • Maintain inventory systems including Pyxis stock and CII Safe

    • Repackage medications and support unit dose systems

    • Perform monthly medication checks to ensure quality and compliance

    • Clean and disinfect the pharmacy clean room per established protocols

    • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and patients

    • Uphold safety standards and regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, Maryland Board of Pharmacy, USP 795/800)

    • Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED (required)

    • Previous pharmacy technician experience (preferred)

    • Registered Maryland Board of Pharmacy Technician (required)

    • National Certification (preferred)

    • Must obtain Maryland license within 30 days if licensed in another state

    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

    • Strong understanding of medical terminology

    Physical & Mental Requirements

    This role requires frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and fine hand/eye coordination. Mental demands include sustained attention to detail, multitasking, and effective communication.
