Overview:

Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician Home Infusion Care Coordinator!

Location: Chesapeake Home Care Services Office

Status: Full Time (40 hours/week) - Monday through Friday, no weekends

Shift: Day Shift (8AM-5:30PM)

The Pharmacy Technician performs the technician responsibilities of clinical pharmacy care delivery under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

Duties

• Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area
• Demonstrates the ability to work independently defined areas of pharmacy practice competently
• Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to advanced clinical job positions
• Participates in the training of new employees
• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
• Participates in clinical initiatives to continuously improve patient care
• Training in an advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician job function
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned
• A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Certification/Licensure

• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
• CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)

Experience

• 2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Required)
• Strong Customer Service skills (Preferred)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
