Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing pharmacy claims and insurance processes, ensuring patients receive the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Recognize and effectively communicate about insurance types and their utilization.
  • Enter all communication and documentation in the Biologics Management Information System (MIS).
  • Assist with projects such as yearly reverification.
  • Communicate with patients to gather appropriate insurance information.
  • Triage prescriptions to preferred pharmacies or HUB providers when necessary.
  • Appropriately process pharmacy claims in Biologics MIS.
  • Understand and interpret pharmacy claim responses.
  • Manage inbound calls from patients, clients, physicians, and payors regarding updates and services.
  • Identify and report adverse events and product complaints to clinicians.
  • Manage and respond to internal communications and requests via chat or email.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in prior authorization, pharmacy, and medical billing & coding.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy services and insurance verification.
  • Ability to review clinic notes, understand payer requirements, and navigate large medical records.
  • Significant experience in outbound calling and patient interaction.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • CPhT certification is a plus.
  • Experience in a hospital, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare setting is highly preferred.
  • Medical Assistant experience is a strong plus.
  • Persistence, resourcefulness, and the ability to explore all available options are essential.

Work Environment

The role offers a hybrid schedule with mandatory in-office days on Tuesdays. Flexible shifts are available, typically between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Most hires are expected to work earlier shifts. The position involves working independently from home and requires proficiency in navigating patient cases and resolving treatment barriers. The company operates Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM EST, and is closed on weekends and major holidays. The work environment is an office setting without direct patient contact.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $22.50/hr.
