Pharmacy Technician
We"re looking for a Pharmacy Technician who combines strong attention to detail with a genuinely warm, engaging personality. This position supports patients receiving specialty medications by helping them navigate insurance requirements, prior authorizations, and pharmacy claims so they can gain access to the treatment they need.
The right person for this role enjoys talking to people, isn"t afraid to pick up the phone, and knows how to build trust with patients who may be overwhelmed by the healthcare system. You"ll spend your day working with patients, provider offices, insurance companies, and internal teams to move cases forward and remove barriers to therapy.
This is a true end-to-end prior authorization role. Rather than simply processing requests, you"ll take ownership of patient cases from start to finish, researching solutions, following up relentlessly, and advocating for timely access to care.
What You"ll Be Doing
What Makes Someone Successful Here
The most successful people in this role are naturally friendly, energetic, and persistent. They enjoy building rapport over the phone, asking questions, and helping people solve problems. They don"t get discouraged when an insurance company says no the first time and are motivated by finding a path forward for patients.
You should be comfortable balancing detailed administrative work with constant communication throughout the day. One moment you may be reviewing a lengthy medical record, and the next you may be speaking with a patient, provider office, and insurance representative to keep a case moving.
Preferred Experience
Work Environment
This position supports a growing specialty pharmacy focused on improving access to medications for patients, including those with rare diseases. The team operates in a hybrid environment with Tuesdays required onsite and the remainder of the week eligible for remote work based on business needs.
Hours fall between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, with common schedules including 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, or 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Most team members work earlier shifts.
This is a phone-based role with no face-to-face patient interaction. If you"re someone who enjoys helping people, thrives on communication, and takes pride in navigating challenges to find solutions, you"ll be a strong fit for this team.
