Pharmacy Technician – $26-32 - Behavioral Health Hospital

Specialty Medical Staffing is seeking a licensed Pharmacy Technician for a full-time contract opportunity with a behavioral health hospital in Anchorage, AK. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule, no weekend requirements, and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a specialized inpatient pharmacy environment.

The assignment is expected to last at least six weeks, with the possibility of extension depending on facility staffing needs. This opportunity is well suited for a pharmacy technician interested in behavioral health, inpatient pharmacy operations, and working within a smaller, collaborative pharmacy team.

Requirements

• Active Alaska Pharmacy Technician license required

• Previous acute care or behavioral health pharmacy experience preferred

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to manage medication inventory and maintain accurate records

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a hospital pharmacy team

• Commitment to medication safety and regulatory compliance

Responsibilities

• Manage medication inventory, including ordering support, organization, and replenishment

• Prepare and coordinate medication deliveries to Omnicell automated dispensing cabinets

• Restock and maintain medication supplies throughout the facility

• Answer and appropriately direct calls from nursing staff and other healthcare professionals

• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation

• Assist pharmacists with daily inpatient pharmacy operations

• Support safe and efficient medication distribution throughout the hospital

• Maintain compliance with applicable pharmacy regulations and facility procedures
