C. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
Assists the pharmacist preparing IV solutions following aseptic techniques. Clean hood working surface and auto-mixing machine.
Replaces IV tubing according to policy, recycle unused IV solutions and properly document batched IV preparations and reconstituted and defrosted antibiotics.
Accurately fill U/D carts, fill floor stock requisitions, restock dispensing areas at all times.
Unpacks and check-in orders, process returns, restock and reorder inventory, maintains and keep shelves and stock orderly, maintains temperature logs, stat runs, cart exchanges and file med orders.
Assists the pharmacist in dispensing medications and controlled substances. Use the computer for all authorized functions.
Handle the phone calls (that do not need a pharmacist) appropriately and completely. Respond to the pharmacy window requests and handle as appropriate.
