We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Patient Financial Advocate to support patients by managing insurance authorizations, grant applications, and other essential functions that ensure timely access to medications. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to be part of a vibrant healthcare environment, working onsite at the University of Kansas Southlake Campus with potential for hybrid work after an initial training period. Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 1+ year experience in insurance billing, revenue cycle management, and prior authorizations
  • Strong knowledge of insurance processes and patient account management
  • Proficiency with EPIC or similar electronic health records systems
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
  • Professional demeanor with consistent work history

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Pharmacy technician license or certification
  • Experience with medication assistance programs or grant applications
  • Familiarity with specialty medications and prior authorization processes

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma plus 3 years of relevant work experience OR
  • Associate's degree in healthcare or related field plus 1 year of relevant experience

Other Requirements:
  • Onsite training for three months, with potential for hybrid work afterward
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
  • Willingness to commit to a temporary role with potential for permanent placement
  • Certifications or additional training relevant to pharmacy or healthcare billing are a plus
