Pharmacy Floor Technician

Job Title: Pharmacy Floor Technician (Evening Shift)
Pay Rate: $21/hr (Paid Weekly)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend is required, 8:30 AM–3:00 PM
Location: 709 Castle Heights Ct, Lebanon, TN 37087

License Required: Active Tennessee Pharmacy Technician License

Position Overview

The Pharmacy Floor Technician is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing finished prescriptions for final verification by a pharmacist. This role involves medication picking, labeling, scanning, packaging, inventory support, and maintaining a clean and organized work area while following all pharmacy procedures and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick, label, scan, and prepare finished prescriptions for pharmacist verification.
• Fill daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision.
• Process returned medications and recycle or dispose of products according to established procedures.
• Assist with prepacking frequently ordered medications during lower-volume periods.
• Manually package medications and other pharmacy materials.
• Pull and pick medications from shelving, prepack racks, and other storage areas.
• Apply labels to blister cards and scan products to verify accuracy.
• Alert the pharmacist when a medication or product does not scan properly.
• Maintain designated workstation areas and replenish necessary supplies.
• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA requirements.
• Comply with departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required or expected.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work at a moderate pace while maintaining accuracy.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must possess and maintain a clear and active Tennessee Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently throughout the workday.
• May sit or stand for approximately 7–10 hours per day.
• Ability to work extended hours when needed.
• Finger dexterity to operate office and pharmacy equipment.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Visual ability to read fine print and distinguish colors.
• Ability to adjust focus and maintain close vision.
• Ability to hear normal voice sounds.
