Get to Know Your Team: Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a womens imaging center, and an ICU. ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Pharmacy provides strategic and operational leadership for hospital pharmacy services, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant medication management practices. This position oversees pharmacy operations, clinical services, regulatory compliance, financial performance, quality improvement, and staff development while partnering with hospital and corporate leadership to advance pharmacy initiatives and patient care.Lead daily hospital pharmacy operations and provide oversight, coaching, and development for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, Board of Pharmacy requirements, DEA regulations, Joint Commission standards, and USP 795, 797, and 800 requirements.Develop and execute pharmacy goals related to medication safety, clinical quality, operational efficiency, productivity, financial performance, and patient satisfaction.Oversee medication-use processes, formulary management, drug utilization, clinical pharmacy services, and quality improvement initiatives.Recruit, train, evaluate, and retain pharmacy team members while promoting accountability, collaboration, and professional development.Partner with physicians, nursing, hospital leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to improve medication management and patient outcomes.Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, programs, and regulatory readiness initiatives.Participate in hospital committees and lead pharmacy-related projects, new programs, and corporate initiatives. QualificationsJob Requirements:Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited School of PharmacyCurrent Pharmacist license in the State of New JerseyThree (3) or more years of hospital pharmacy experienceTwo (2) or more years of supervisory or leadership experienceBLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care Preferred Job Requirements:Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited School of PharmacyFive (5) or more years of hospital pharmacy experienceALS/ACLS certification (required if participating in Code Blue response)Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
