PHARMACIST | DETAILS AND COMPENSATION:

• Location: Warwick RI 02888 – 100% on-site
• Payrate: $70.55/hr
• Required Availability: Full-Time | Monday – Friday
  • Primary Shift: 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
  • Alternative Schedule: 9:30 AM–6:00 PM, with evening coverage of approximately 1–2 nights per week as needed

PHARMACIST | SUMMARY AND HIGHLIGHTS:

The Pharmacist will be responsible for safely and accurately dispensing medications, counseling patients, managing medication-related concerns, supervising pharmacy staff, and ensuring compliance with applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with patients, physicians, nurses, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals.

• This position is a contract assignment with potential to hire on permanently based upon attendance, performance, and business needs

PHARMACIST | RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Accept, review, and accurately dispense prescription medications in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Ensure prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients.
• Monitor patient medication adherence and identify potential medication overuse or other drug-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and pharmacy files.
• Counsel patients regarding medications, including proper use, dosage, storage, potential side effects, interactions, and expected reactions.
• Provide consultation on both prescription and non-prescription medications.
• Identify and communicate patient drug-related problems to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provide patient-focused services such as smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the proper use and handling of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for internal and external use when needed.
• Prepare sterile solutions in accordance with proper procedures and safety standards.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, and other pharmacy support staff.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care.
• Ensure pharmacy operations remain compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and established procedures.
