    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

    • Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders.
    • Detect any therapeutic incompatibilities.
    • Complete pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' workflow.
    • Verify their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, order entries, charges, and inspections.
    • Provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals.
    • Counsel patients on drug therapies.
    • Dispense medications by compounding, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals.
    • Control medications by monitoring drug therapies, advise interventions when necessary.
    • Comply with federal and state drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration.
    • Maintain records for controlled substances.
    • Remove outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
    • Utilize integrated electronic health record (EHR) platforms to perform medication reconciliation, e-prescribing, and clinical decision support functions. Apply current immunization schedules, opioid stewardship protocols, and collaborative practice agreements in daily patient care.

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
    • Licensure: Michigan Pharmacist License, BLS Certification
    • Experience: 5 years experience as a Pharmacist, Pharmacy Manager, or related occupation.
    • Debarment: Must not be identified on USDHHS List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE)
    • Travel: Weekly Travel to various worksites within Saginaw County, MI, up to 75% of the time; weekly travel to various worksites within adjoining Bay County, MI, up to 25% of the time.
