    The Fort Peck Service Unit is seeking experienced Pharmacists to provide comprehensive pharmacy services at its Poplar, Montana facility. The Pharmacist will be responsible for safely and accurately dispensing medications, reviewing prescriptions, providing medication counseling, collaborating with healthcare providers, and supporting quality patient care within an Indian Health Service (Client) outpatient setting.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Review and accurately dispense prescription medications in accordance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
    • Evaluate medication orders for appropriate drug selection, dosage, interactions, contraindications, and potential allergies.
    • Provide medication counseling and education to patients regarding proper use, dosing, potential side effects, and adherence.
    • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy.
    • Monitor patients' medication regimens and identify potential drug-related problems.
    • Maintain accurate pharmacy records, medication profiles, and required documentation.
    • Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, storage, and proper handling of pharmaceutical products.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable Client, federal, state, and pharmacy regulations.
    • Provide clinical pharmacy support and participate in medication management activities as assigned.
    • Assist with medication reconciliation and identification of discrepancies.
    • Maintain appropriate security and control of medications, including controlled substances.
    • Respond to medication-related questions from patients and healthcare staff.
    • Support quality assurance, medication safety, and infection-control initiatives.
    • Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Director or designated supervisor.

    Requirements:

    • Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license.
    • Pharm.D. or equivalent pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
    • Current knowledge of pharmacy practices, medication safety, and applicable regulations.
    • Strong clinical, communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in an outpatient/federal healthcare environment.
    • Prior Client, federal healthcare, tribal healthcare, or outpatient pharmacy experience is preferred.
    • Must successfully complete facility credentialing and onboarding requirements.
    • Must be available to work the required Monday–Friday, 8-hour schedule.
    License and Certification:
    • Need BLS(AHA)
    • Pharmacist License
