TriStar Centennial Medical Center Pharmacy Department is seeking a Pediatric Pharmacy Specialist in Oncology/Hematology. This position provides pharmacy expertise on a multidisciplinary team, highly engaged in advancing therapies for the pediatric population.

TriStar Centennial Children’s Hospital pediatric hematology-oncology program supports the diagnosis, management and long-term care for cancer and blood disorders. HCA Healthcare Sarah Cannon Cancer Network delivers exceptional care through innovative, specialized treatments, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Our FACT ‑accredited site meets national quality and safety standards and is recognized for both stem cell transplantation and CAR T‑cell therapy. We offer cutting-edge treatments through clinical trials and are actively participating in trials studying gene therapy and immunotherapy treatments.

Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role: 

You will utilize good problem-solving abilities, making sure that problems are resolved, calling on other knowledgeable parties as necessary.

You will maintain strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispense accordingly.

You will consult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors and complaints.

You will determine and consult on possible drug interactions.

You will assist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory and ordering of pharmaceuticals.

You will monitor, record and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.

You will utilize knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.

What qualifications you will need:

Current TN Pharmacist licensure or eligible for licensure

One-year hospital experience or equivalent

PGY-2 in Pediatrics or Hematology/Oncology and/or extensive pediatric experience is preferred; Board Certification in Pediatrics or Oncology is preferred, expected within 2 years if no Excellent communication and computer skills

Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

Doctorate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
