Pharmacist

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Pharmacist for an Onsite position with a Healthcare Services Organization located in Elizabethtown, PA. This is a 3 month contract opportunity.

This role involves dispensing medications according to prescriptions from licensed veterinarians within a veterinary pharmacy setting. The ideal candidate will manage medication orders, ensure proper labeling and delivery, and maintain a high standard of customer service while adhering to all standards of practice.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain valid prescription information from licensed veterinarian or designated agent prior to dispensing
• Initiate and receive calls and faxes for medication orders
• Demonstrate knowledge of and take action in clarification of medication orders
• Dispense medications according to prescription from the licensed veterinarian
• Prepare medication for use by end-user according to current standards of practice in the profession of veterinary pharmacy
• Ensure that medications are labeled appropriately and that products are delivered to end-users in a timely, safe and efficient manner
• Answer questions, as appropriate, from other healthcare providers and end-users regarding medication and approved usage
• Maintain records of all drugs dispensed and of any and all prescriptions filled
• Prepare all reports as required (i.e. daily dispensing log, monthly usage reports)
• Ensure that drug products in the pharmacy are stored in appropriate conditions
• Maintain a high standard of customer service
• Provide back-up service for other pharmacies as needed
• Cross-train across all pharmacy operational functions
• Maintain active pharmacist license in home state
• Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Requires a Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy
• Unrestricted, current state license as a Registered Pharmacist in resident state is required
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and ascending and descending stairs
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and creatively in order to improve customer satisfaction
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services and drug interactions
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Good analytical skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Pay range: up to $45.42 per hour
