Job Purpose
The PGA Junior Golf Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to junior golfers while supporting the development and growth of the junior golf program. This role focuses on fostering skill development, sportsmanship, and a positive learning environment both on and off the course.
Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and execute structured lesson plans and junior golf curriculum
Deliver individual and group instruction to junior golfers of varying skill levels
Conduct player assessments and provide ongoing feedback to support development
Teach golf fundamentals, rules, etiquette, and sportsmanship in both classroom and on-course settings
Provide on-course instruction, supervision, and marshaling during program activities
Partner with the Junior Golf Director and/or General Manager to support program design, evaluation, and continuous improvement
Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging environment for all participants
Assist with junior golf events, clinics, and tournaments as needed
Qualifications
PGA Associate status required
Prior experience teaching junior golfers required
Professional or collegiate-level playing experience preferred
Strong knowledge of golf fundamentals, rules, and etiquette
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate effectively and adapt to program needs
Working Conditions
Outdoor golf course environment with exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, sun, wind, and occasional rain
Schedule includes Thursdays from 2:00 PM - 7:30 PM, with additional weekday hours, evenings, and occasional weekends as needed
Requires prolonged standing, walking, and active movement across practice areas and the course
Frequent interaction with junior golfers, parents, and members in a fast-paced, service-focused environment
Frequent bending, lifting, and carrying of golf equipment (e.g., bags, range baskets, training aids) up to approximately 25-40 pounds
Compensation
$75 per hour
