Position: Personal Trainer – Senior Fitness
Employment Type: Per Diem

 

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and motivating Personal Trainer specializing in senior fitness to work with older adults and help them improve their strength, mobility, balance, flexibility, and overall quality of life.

The ideal candidate understands that training seniors requires patience, attentiveness, and an individualized approach. You will work with clients at different fitness and mobility levels and create safe, effective exercise programs tailored to their needs and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and/or small-group training sessions for seniors.
  • Develop personalized exercise programs based on each client's abilities, goals, and fitness level.
  • Focus on strength, balance, mobility, flexibility, coordination, and functional movement.
  • Modify exercises appropriately for clients with physical limitations or varying mobility levels.
  • Monitor clients during workouts and maintain a safe training environment.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with clients and encourage long-term adherence to exercise.
  • Track client progress and adjust programs as needed.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, families, and other care or wellness professionals when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate client records and follow all facility safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Personal training certification from a recognized organization.
  • Experience working with older adults or senior populations strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of functional fitness, balance training, mobility, and resistance training.
  • CPR/AED certification required or willingness to obtain it.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, dependable, compassionate, and comfortable working with people of varying physical abilities.
  • Ability to recognize when an exercise needs to be modified or discontinued for safety.
