Personal Care Home Administrator Responsibilities
As the Personal Care Home Administrator, you will provide overall leadership and direction for the community, ensuring high-quality resident services, regulatory compliance, strong financial performance, and a positive culture for residents, families, and employees.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Personal Care Home.
- Ensure residents receive high-quality, compassionate, person-centered care in a safe and supportive environment.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including Pennsylvania Personal Care Home requirements.
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to support quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Recruit, develop, support, and retain department leaders and team members while fostering a positive and accountable workplace culture.
- Provide leadership and coaching to department managers while establishing clear expectations for performance and resident service.
- Monitor staffing levels and scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient operations.
- Oversee facility financial performance, including budgeting, expense management, labor management, and operational performance.
- Partner with admissions and marketing teams to support census development, resident retention, and community outreach.
- Build strong relationships with residents and families and respond promptly and professionally to questions or concerns.
- Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, pharmacies, therapy providers, and other community partners to support resident needs.
- Oversee quality improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to strengthen resident care, service, and operational performance.
- Ensure appropriate documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping are maintained in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Maintain readiness for regulatory surveys and oversee the development and implementation of corrective action plans when necessary.
- Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the community.
Qualifications
- Current Pennsylvania Personal Care Home Administrator qualification/certification meeting applicable state requirements required.
- Previous leadership experience in a Personal Care Home, Assisted Living, Senior Living, or related healthcare environment strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Pennsylvania Personal Care Home regulations and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing employees and department managers.
- Knowledge of healthcare operations, staffing, budgeting, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with residents, families, employees, healthcare providers, and community partners.
- Proven ability to manage multiple operational priorities while maintaining a strong focus on resident care and service.
- Commitment to creating a positive environment for residents and employees while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
