    Personal Care Attendant PACE

    Location: Garden Grove, CA
    Job Type: Temporary / As-Needed
    Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
    Assignment Duration: Up to 6 months and/or 960 hours
    About the Position

    We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to support participants at a PACE clinic in Garden Grove, CA. PACE provides comprehensive health and support services to adults age 55 and older with ongoing healthcare needs.

    The Personal Care Attendant will provide hands-on personal care, mobility assistance, safety support, and daily living assistance while maintaining the dignity, comfort, and well-being of participants.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide personal care and escort assistance according to individual care plans.
    • Assist participants with:
      • Grooming and dressing
      • Showering and bathing
      • Toileting and peri-care
      • Feeding
      • Ambulation and mobility
    • Assist with safe participant transfers and mobility using appropriate techniques and mechanical equipment when required.
    • Report changes in participant condition and communicate health and safety concerns to the Day Center Supervisor and PCA Lead.
    • Follow universal precautions and proper body mechanics to maintain a safe environment.
    • Participate in social, recreational, and physical activities with participants.
    • Assist with food service delivery and monitor participants during mealtimes.
    • Implement interventions and techniques as directed by rehabilitation and nursing staff.
    • Document services provided on a daily basis.
    • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and support department goals.
    • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • At least 1 year of experience working with frail or elderly individuals required.
    • At least 6 months of clinical experience as a Personal Care Aide, CNA, LVN, or MA.
    • Completion of an approved HHA or Medical Assistant program, CNA certification, or LVN license required.
    • CPR and First Aid certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
    • Must complete the PACE-approved Personal Care Aide curriculum upon hire.
    • Must complete the ServSafe Food Handler certification upon hire.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and provide compassionate, respectful care to elderly participants.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Bilingual in English and one of the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Russian, Spanish, or Vietnamese.
    • Experience working with frail, elderly, or medically complex populations.
    • Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills.
    • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and related healthcare systems.
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, reach, and perform other physical activities required for participant care.
    • Ability to assist with lifting and moving participants and/or equipment weighing more than 50 pounds.
    • Ability to communicate clearly with participants, families, and healthcare staff.
    • Ability to read information from computer screens, forms, and other printed materials.
    • Ability to perform repetitive physical activities while safely assisting frail elderly participants.
