    About the Role

    Mfinite Consulting LLC is recruiting Personal Care Aides (also known as Non-Medical Personal-Care Staff or Temporary Employee Personnel) to support students with extensive cognitive, medical, physical, and/or behavioral disabilities in public school classrooms in Howard County, MD. In this role, you will act as a non-medical companion to one or more students, ages 3-21, helping them access academic instruction and participate fully in the school day under the direction of a classroom teacher and their Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support consistent implementation of the assigned student's IEP and/or BIP as directed by the student's educational team.
    • Help the student build independence, socially appropriate behaviors, and communication skills by modeling and reinforcing positive behavior.
    • Support student safety through appropriate, trained intervention strategies.
    • Assist with academic tasks and functional skills, including the use of assistive technology or adapted equipment as directed.
    • Support the student during transitions, lunch, recess, assemblies, and other non-instructional activities.
    • Assist with physical care needs as assigned, which may include lifting, positioning, transferring, toileting assistance, feeding, and personal hygiene support.
    • Escort the student to and from areas in and outside the building.
    • Collect data on student goals, objectives, and behavior plans as directed.
    • Communicate daily with the assigned teacher regarding student progress or concerns (communication with parents is handled by school staff, not by this role).
    • Immediately report anything that compromises a student's health, safety, or well-being to school staff.
    • Attend all required district pre-service and in-service training sessions.
    • Complete and submit timesheets accurately and on time.

    Note: Specific duties are tailored to each student's IEP; not every placement will include every duty listed above.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Able to provide valid U.S. work authorization (Form I-9).
    • Able to pass a Maryland criminal history background check (State repository check via fingerprinting) prior to placement.
    • Able to complete the Maryland Education Article §6-113.2 employment history review (required for any position involving direct contact with minors).
    • Not a registered sex offender under Maryland law.
    • Reliable transportation to and from assigned school site (transportation is the employee's responsibility).
    • Comfortable assisting with physical care tasks including lifting, positioning, and toileting support.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student information at all times.
    • Prior experience with children or adults with disabilities preferred but not required — paid training is provided.

    Schedule & Location

    Placements are assigned to a specific school (elementary, middle, or high school) for the duration of the school year, working the school's regular instructional hours, Monday through Friday, for approximately 24 hours/week. Staff do not report when schools are closed for weather or other emergencies.
