Position Overview
The Permitting Manager is responsible for leading and managing the permitting process for engineering projects, ensuring timely acquisition of all required permits and regulatory approvals. This role requires close coordination with internal engineering teams, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders to support successful project planning, design, and execution.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Planning, Natural Resources, or related field. Master's degree is a plus. 5+ years of experience in permitting, regulatory compliance, or project management within an engineering or environmental consulting environment. Experience with federal (e.g., USACE, EPA, FWS), state, and local permitting processes (e.g., Clean Water Act Section 404/401, Endangered Species Act, NEPA/CEQA). Proven track record of managing multiple permitting processes and timelines across complex projects. Strong understanding of environmental laws and permitting processes. Excellent technical writing, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; GIS or environmental modeling tools is a plus. Ability to manage multiple permit applications and deadlines efficiently Ability to read and write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as writing routine reports and correspondence, and speaking effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clients.
Travel Requirements
This position requires occasional domestic overnight travel, approximately 10% to 20% of the time, to support
business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on
project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may be
conducted in outdoor or operational environments. Adherence to all company safety protocols and use of PPE is
required during travel and on-site work.
