    Description

     PURPOSE
    Our client is looking for a Permit Facilitator – Air Emission & Waste Management to ensure that environmental permits are obtained and maintained in compliance with applicable regulations during construction and operations. This role will support permitting strategy execution, manage schedules and documentation, monitor compliance with permit conditions, and coordinate with internal teams, regulatory agencies, and external consultants to support timely approvals and regulatory reporting.


    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Permit Acquisition & Compliance
    • Support development and execution of permitting strategies for required local, state, and federal permits 
    • Develop and maintain permitting schedules, tracking submission deadlines and approval milestones 
    • Identify critical path permits, flag risks, and coordinate mitigation with stakeholders 
    • Collect and manage technical data and documentation for permit applications 
    • Monitor compliance with permit conditions and prepare required regulatory reports and filings 
    • Provide regular permitting status updates to project leadership 
    External Communication
    • Serve as primary liaison with regulatory authorities (e.g., TDEC)
    • Coordinate meetings, hearings, and responses to regulatory inquiries
    • Monitor regulatory and policy developments impacting permitting and compliance
    • Represent the project in public and community engagement settings
    Consultant Management
    • Manage external permitting consultants and oversee application preparation
    • Review permit documents for regulatory compliance
    • Coordinate communication between internal teams and consultants
     
     
    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor’s degree in a Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related degree
    • 10+ years of relevant experience
    • Bilingual English/Korean preferred
    • Experience with industrial permitting, Tennessee regulations, and programs such as CGP, NPDES, Fast-41, and NEPA
    • Strong communication skills and experience with regulatory agencies
    • Expertise in air quality permitting and environmental compliance
