Role: Permit Coordinator
Rate: $40/hour
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
This role is primarily responsible for tracking and managing all pending permits through the review process, ensuring compliance with local jurisdictional requirements, and providing clear communication regarding the status of each permit. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction permitting, strong project management skills, and an ability to coordinate across various teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Submit permit packages via online systems, fax, or in person, ensuring proper tracking and correlation of permits.
• Pick up completed permit packages and manage the necessary paperwork.
• Communicate with jurisdictional employees to understand changes in permitting requirements.
• Track jurisdiction-specific requirements and ensure the team is kept informed of any updates.
• Work with local jurisdictions to facilitate ideal permitting conditions for project progression.
• Post permit submittals and approved permits; manage the permitting module in JT or Polaris (job docs).
• Handle all financial and reporting aspects related to permitting.
• Serve as the liaison between Comcast and permitting authorities, maintaining strong relationships with local stakeholders.
• Track and report on aerial inspections and restoration completions.
• Provide support to the scheduler and fill in when needed.
• Oversee traffic control responsibilities, follow up on related tasks, and maintain relationships with necessary parties.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience with construction permitting, specifically in telecom pole permitting.
• Exposure to CATV design and installation processes.
• Familiarity with aerial permits and some railroad-related permitting.
• Financial management experience related to permitting and reporting.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Solid customer service skills, with the ability to navigate relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with permitting software (e.g., JT or Polaris) is a plus.
