The Lodi Board of Education is seeking the following:

POSITION: PERMANENT SUBSTITUTE TEACHER - VACANCY COVERAGE

LOCATION: Lodi High School

EFFECTIVE: September 1, 2026

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A regular New Jersey teaching certificate or a substitute teacher's certificate issued by the County Superintendent
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.

REPORTS TO: Principal

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Substitute teachers shall make every effort within their area of professional expertise to instruct children in their charge in accordance with the curriculum adopted by the Board of Education.

WORK YEAR: 5.5 hours/day exclusive of a 40-minute lunch; 5 days/week; 184 total days as per staff calendar

PERFORMING RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Follows plans and instructions of the regular teacher.

2. Conducts effective learning experiences.

3. Establishes and encourages, in a fair and just manner, standards of acceptable pupil behavior.

4. Maintains the physical condition of the classroom, equipment and supplies.

5. Upholds and enforces school rules and regulations.

6. Studies, and implements when necessary, fire drill and school evacuation procedures.

7. Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law and administrative regulations.

8. Prepares a written report for the regular teacher giving information on work covered, assignments, etc.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position serves to cover a current teaching vacancy and will be terminated with notice if/when that vacancy is filled.

SALARY: $31,385 - prorated based on time in position.

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated by building principals.
