What You’ll Do
  • Provide direct medical care for hospitalized patients including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
  • Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care in a rural hospital setting
  • Collaborate with specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Coordinate comprehensive patient care plans and ensure smooth care transitions
  • Order, interpret, and act on lab tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
  • Respond to medical emergencies, including codes and rapid response situations
  • Manage ventilator-dependent patients as needed
  • Participate in clinical rounds, interdisciplinary meetings, and hospital committees
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses and follow-up care
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
What You Need
  • Medical license in Vermont or eligibility to obtain one
  • MD or DO degree; Board Certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine preferred
  • Minimum 2 years hospitalist experience preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously within a team-focused environment
