What You’ll Do
- Provide direct medical care for hospitalized patients including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions
- Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care in a rural hospital setting
- Collaborate with specialists, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
- Coordinate comprehensive patient care plans and ensure smooth care transitions
- Order, interpret, and act on lab tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
- Respond to medical emergencies, including codes and rapid response situations
- Manage ventilator-dependent patients as needed
- Participate in clinical rounds, interdisciplinary meetings, and hospital committees
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses and follow-up care
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
What You Need
- Medical license in Vermont or eligibility to obtain one
- MD or DO degree; Board Certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine preferred
- Minimum 2 years hospitalist experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously within a team-focused environment
