    Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH), a 61-bed not-for-profit community hospital in scenic southeastern Vermont, is seeking a full-time Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) to join its collaborative and mission-driven medical staff dedicated to delivering exceptional, compassionate, patient-centered care to a rural population across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.

    Job Description:
    The Hospitalist Physician will:
    • Provide direct medical care for hospitalized patients including admissions, daily rounding, and discharges
    • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions
    • Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care
    • Collaborate closely with specialists, primary care providers, nurses, respiratory therapists, CRNAs, Emergency Medicine physicians, and ancillary services
    • Coordinate patient care plans and ensure smooth transitions of care
    • Order, interpret, and act on laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies
    • Document all patient encounters, care plans, and outcomes thoroughly and timely in the EMR
    • Respond to medical emergencies including codes and rapid response situations
    • Provide ventilator management
    • Participate in clinical rounds and interdisciplinary meetings
    • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care
    • Participate in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and performance evaluations
    • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and medical ethics
    • No procedures required
    • Work with specialty backup including surgeons (for central lines), respiratory therapy, EM physicians, and CRNAs
    • Not open to candidates who commute more than 1 hour

    • Compensation and Benefits:
