Title: Perm - Medical Director - Primary Care Brattleboro, VT

Description:

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, part of the Southern Vermont Health Services Corporation, is seeking a full-time Medical Director of Primary Care to lead a large, multi-site, hospital-employed primary care network in Brattleboro, Vermont. This leadership role combines direct patient care with system-wide clinical oversight, quality improvement, and strategic development within a progressive, community-focused healthcare environment in southern Vermont.

Job Description:
  • Provide direct primary care patient services while maintaining active clinical practice engagement

  • Serve as Medical Director for a 50-provider multi-specialty outpatient Primary Care group

  • Provide medical oversight and clinical leadership across four primary care sites

  • Develop, implement, and standardize clinical protocols and evidence-based best practices

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety

  • Mentor, support, and evaluate clinicians and care teams

  • Collaborate with administrative leadership to improve workflows, scheduling, and EHR utilization

  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and retention of primary care clinicians

  • Foster interdisciplinary teamwork between clinicians, nursing staff, and administrative teams

  • Partner with practice managers and Medical Group leadership on operational and staffing needs

  • Oversee patient safety initiatives, complaint review processes, and risk management collaboration

  • Support infection control standards and public health initiatives

  • Contribute to financial planning, budgeting, and strategic development

  • Identify opportunities for practice growth and value-based care improvement

  • Advance cost-efficiency and population health strategies

  • Lead or participate in education, training programs, CME activities, case reviews, FPPE/OPPE, and performance evaluations
