    Arrowhead Family Health Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate Part-Time and PRN Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center in Glendale, Arizona. If you are passionate about providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment, we'd love to hear from you.

    The Perioperative RN is responsible for assessing, planning and implementing care of patients from admission to discharge monitoring the well-being of the patient before, during and after the operation.

    Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursday 7AM-5PM

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Assesses patient status on admission and on an ongoing basis.
    • Implements appropriate standards of care based on assessment data and patient's own goals, which are set mutually with the patient and family.
    • Coordinates nursing interventions to enhance achievement of expected outcomes and to ensure readiness for discharge post procedure.
    • Ensures provisions of patient care in an organized and timely manner.
    • Adheres to all surgery center policies and procedures when providing patient care.
    • Utilizes nursing care standards when planning and implementing patient care.
    • Demonstrates ability to direct and provide for patient care in emergency situations.
    • Assesses learning needs according to patient's level of understanding and readiness to learn.
    • Strives to be professional, courteous, helpful and cooperative.
    • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position.
    • Works cooperatively and maintains communication with all team members including physicians, other nurses and ancillary staff, patient representatives and administrative staff.
    • Assists with assembling all necessary equipment and supplies for pre procedure, procedure and post procedure area.
    • Demonstrates the safe operation of equipment and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.
    • Assists in cleaning work areas during and at the end of the shift.
    • Demonstrates competent usage of proper body mechanics in all activities.
    • Demonstrates understanding of established emergency procedures.
    • Assists with quality assurance monitoring and performance improvement projects as requested.
    • Maintains dress and appearance according to standards.
    • Attends and/or maintains unit based staff meetings, required safety training and yearly education/competency requirements.
    • Maintains confidentiality of all facility and patient information as required by facility policy.
    • Provides notification of unscheduled absences or tardiness and requests time off in accordance with established departmental procedures.
    • Understands and utilizes standards for delegating tasks to LPNs, unlicensed assistive personnel, and ancillary staff.

    Education/Experience/ Requirements:

    • Associate's degree (A. A. / A. S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in nursing; or graduate of an accredited school of nursing; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred.
    • Specialized Training: Intensive Care Unit / Critical Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit / Critical Care Unit, Pain Management, Operating room, Emergency room
    • Certifications: CPR-ACLS certification within 90 days of employment, Active and Unencumbered Arizona RN License
    • Equipment: Defibrillator/pacer, Suction machine, Ventilator, RF Multi-gen, Sterilizer, Glucometer

    Benefits:
