Description

Regions Hospital is looking for a Per Diem Surgical Assistant to join our team!

Under the direction of the Service Line Supervisor and Director of Surgical Services, the Surgical Assistant is responsible for the proper handling and sterilization of instruments and equipment to render them safe for handling and use. This role also monitors, stocks, and fills supplies, assists with the cleaning of the department, transports patients, supplies, and specimens, and assists with other duties as assigned.

This role requires knowledge and/or training in aseptic technique. The Surgical Assistant must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to perform transport and transfer, based on physical, psychosocial, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, which may be gained through education, training, or experience.

Work Schedule:

  • This is a per diem position requiring a minimum number of scheduled shifts to maintain employment: Monday-Friday day (6:45 a.m.-3:15 p.m.), or evening (3:00-11:00 p.m.) shifts. Saturday/Sunday weekend shifts (9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant/health care assistant training program.

  • Six months of experience in a healthcare setting.

Additional Information:

This is a non-union per diem (0 set hours per pay period) position, working in Saint Paul, MN. The full salary range for this position is $21.15-$29.63 per hour, based on experience. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is not eligible for benefits.
