To assist director, supervisor in the organization and daily function of the Infusion Center in accordance with established federal, state, and accreditation standards, regulations and Center policies and procedures. To assist the Hematology Oncology Providers and Nurse Supervisor in overseeing patient care activities in the Infusion Center. To maintain high standard of safety for the patient and staff members. Patient liaison for care rendered. Monitor stock levels, outdated supplies and equipment needs and report to Nurse Supervisor/Clinic Administrator.
Primary Responsibilities:
Clinical Activities
Participate in patient care activities and adheres to requirement of a Per Diem Registered Nurse when providing direct patient care. This is demonstrated by:
Above average ability to plan and implement patient care
Ability to make sound nursing judgment based on nursing theory
Accurately administers medication to infusion patients as prescribed by the Physician
Develops and maintains collaborative relationship with all members of the healthcare delivery system
Ability to consider needs of the department, preplanning, proactive, making adjustments as needed
Ability to organize equipment, instrumentation, supplies, and medication for cases according to patient needs and physician preference cards
Medical Record documentation is legible, concise and accurate, timely
Documentation of charges is accurate and complete on the SR and Patient Flow Sheet
Ability to plan ahead for special items
Communicates all-important facts to Director, Supervisor, and Manager
Ability to assess and individual the needs of each client and respond appropriately, utilizing available patient resources
Ensures appropriateness of patient. Completion of consents and admission requirements. Patient identified appropriately prior to start of administering Chemo Services
Assume responsibility for competency of practice and takes initiative for professional development and continuing education
Ability of assesses and individualizes the needs of each patient and responds appropriately when administering I.V. conscious sedation
Assist Providers with reviewing Lab Values prior to dispensing medication to patients
Directing all questions or concerns regarding medication, lab, etc. to the Nurse Supervisor/Clinic Administrator/Managing Physician in a timely and appropriate manner
Confirm patient information prior to administration of medication
Cross reference Patient Flow Sheet and Service Requisition Form for accuracy of charge capture
Quality Improvement Activities
These activities are everyone's responsibility. Actively participates as evidenced by:
Understanding the Infusion Center Quality improvement Program
Understanding of the quality improvement process
Completes Opportunity for Quality improvement Form when as opportunity is identified. Makes sure that there is appropriate follow-up
Participates in Quality Improvement Team Projects as appropriate
Completes assigned monitors in a timely and accurate manner
Keeps up-to-date with the Infusion Center's Quality improvement activities
Customer Service
Maintains active professional relationships with doctors and patients by assessing needs and levels of satisfaction with the Infusion Center services. Demonstrates a positive, friendly, and courteous manner. Identifies opportunities to enhance the services provided by the Infusion Center as shown by:
Positive physician satisfaction
Reports all inefficiencies, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences to Director
Serves as a role model to other staff
Maintains confidentiality on matters to which they are privileged

Demonstrates ability to supervise, orient, and coach nursing staff as evidenced by:
Ability to take charge of department when called upon
Explains policies, procedures, and methods, and methods to staff who do not understand
Assists in the orientation and training of new employees, or employees in a new position
Resource and Inventory Management
Ensures proper use of resources (time and supplies) as evidenced by:
Careful use of supplies and medicines to avoid waste. Reports supervisor when supplies are low and need ordering. Documentation of charges accurate and complete
Keeps accurate time records
Stocks units with supplies/drugs as needed
Helps keep supplies neat & organized
Identifies opportunities to be more cost-effective and efficient
Regulatory Compliance
Complies with local, State and Federal rules and regulations and accreditation guidelines as evidenced by:
100% of regulatory concerns or unusual occurrences are reported to supervisor nurse within 24 hours of occurrences
When patient injury or disaster occurs, administration is notified immediately
RN license and ACLS and CPR certification kept current and kept on file at the Center
Oncology Certification maintained if certified and/or 16 CEU or in house training related to Oncology Topic documented
Safety
Maintain unit in safe condition as evidenced by cleared hallways, secured electrical writing, and reporting of broken equipment promptly. Adheres to all facility safety regulations and guidelines regarding patient safety as evidenced by:
Attends monthly safety meetings as documented in attendance records
Attends staff meetings where safety issues are discussed
Identifies, corrects, and reports unsafe conditions immediately

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $29.00 to $52.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
