Mississippi Valley Surgery Center is seeking a Per Diem Radiology Technologist to provide imaging services in our ambulatory surgery setting. This position is scheduled as needed, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts. You will work closely with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other team members to support safe and efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform intraoperative fluoroscopy and diagnostic radiography, including chest radiography, as assigned.
- Set up, position, operate, and perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment.
- Verify patient information and imaging requests before examinations, and communicate discrepancies or safety concerns.
- Obtain and evaluate quality images while minimizing unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Follow radiation safety practices to protect patients, staff, and yourself.
- Position imaging equipment safely in the operating room while protecting the sterile field.
- Complete imaging documentation and manage images and results according to facility procedures.
Qualifications
- Current Radiologic Technologist license or certification applicable to the position.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience with C-arm fluoroscopy in an operating room or procedural setting preferred.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to changing procedural needs, and communicate effectively with the care team.
