Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

About the Position

Halcyon Nurse Staffing is seeking an experienced OB Surgical Technician to support the Labor & Delivery department at Saint Francis Medical Center (SFMC) in California.

This opportunity is ideal for a Surgical Tech with recent OB/Labor & Delivery experience who is looking for a flexible per diem assignment and the opportunity to work in a hospital-based surgical environment.

 

Responsibilities

The OB Surgical Technician will assist the Labor & Delivery surgical team with procedures and maintain a safe, organized, and sterile environment.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Preparing the operating room and surgical equipment
  • Assisting with surgical procedures in the OB/L&D setting
  • Maintaining sterile technique throughout procedures
  • Passing instruments and supplies to the surgical team
  • Preparing and handling surgical equipment and instruments
  • Assisting with room turnover and maintaining surgical readiness
  • Following hospital policies and infection-control procedures
  • Working collaboratively with nurses, physicians, and other members of the surgical team

Requirements

  • Recent Surgical Technologist experience
  • Experience in an OB/Labor & Delivery surgical setting preferred/required for this assignment
  • Experience working in a hospital operating room environment
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery environment
  • Must meet facility and staffing requirements prior to placement

Required Credential

  • BLS – Basic Life Support

Additional Surgical Technologist certifications may be required depending on facility credentialing requirements.
