Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) – Per Diem

Los Angeles, CA | Per Diem | 12-Hour Shifts

UNI Healthcare is seeking experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses (ER RNs) for per diem opportunities at a major acute-care medical center in Los Angeles County. This position is ideal for experienced ER nurses who can commit to an ongoing per diem schedule and provide care to a diverse, high-acuity patient population.

Position Details

  • Position: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room
  • Schedule: Per Diem / As Needed
  • Minimum Commitment: 2 shifts per week
  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Shifts: Days and Nights
  • Must be available for weekends and holidays as needed
  • Assignment Length: Ongoing/as needed
  • Location: Los Angeles County, CA

Requirements

  • Active California RN license in good standing.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience in a community-based acute-care hospital.
  • Current AHA BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • Additional facility-required certifications and health clearances must be completed prior to the start date.
  • Must be able to work at least 2 shifts per week.
  • Must be willing to work days or nights and weekends/holidays based on facility needs.

Important: This is a per diem position, not a guaranteed full-time schedule. Candidates submitted for consideration should be fully committed to ongoing per diem work. Requested time off is subject to approval and is not guaranteed.

Responsibilities Perform rapid triage and comprehensive patient assessments. Develop and initiate appropriate nursing care and treatment plans. Administer medications and treatments as ordered. Perform cardiac monitoring and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention. Assist physicians and clinical teams with emergency procedures. Provide nursing care for patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries, including minor trauma, respiratory conditions, cardiac complaints, infections, psychiatric emergencies, and other urgent medical needs. Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, and patient outcomes. Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and emergency nursing protocols.
