Primary Duties and Responsibilities
You can expand your engagement in the community while working at UCLA Health. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse on the UCLA Health Ambulatory Float Team, you will travel to various ambulatory clinics to provide administrative and patient care support to a diverse population. Each day will be an exciting opportunity to work with new patients and colleagues all while having the support and recognition that comes with being a part of UCLA Health.
This role requires a Clinical Assistant who is flexible, enthusiastic, and proactive as youll be traveling to the San Luis Obispo UCLA Central Coast Community practices with your schedule varying based on assignments. As a per diem employee, you must provide your availability at least one month in advance. The minimum requirement is 2 shifts totaling 16 hours per week, Monday through Friday, including one full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) per month. Days and hours may vary depending on assignments.
Job Qualifications
Required:
- Possession of active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certification
- Possession of active BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and procedures
- Ability to take vital signs, administer medications, and obtain drug refills
- Experience performing phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, CPR, injections, and other skills within scope of practice
- Ability to be highly flexible, travel to multiple work sites within UCLA Health community-based practices, and work a variable schedule
Highly Desired:
- Minimum of six months of recent working experience as an LVN in a healthcare setting
- As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
