    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Title: Housekeeper

    Department: Peggy Coloney's House at Hope Village

    Reports to: Facilities Manager

    POSITION DESCRIPTION:

    The housekeeper is responsible for performing all housekeeping and cleaning duties necessary to assure that areas within our facilities meet the highest level of sanitation and cleanliness.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Performs housekeeping tasks, including but not limited to empty trash, clean and polish, vacuum, damp mop, hand scrub, sweep, etc., as assigned by the Facilities Manager or other management staff.
    • Reports any unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., to the Facilities Manager.
    • Performs other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by the Facilities Manager, Department Director and/or the Administrator.
    • Assist with meals as needed.
    • Understands Hospice and Assisted Living Philosophies.

    EXPERIENCE:

    None required. On-the-job training provided.

    WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

    Ability to work with managers, employees, administrators, vendors, patients and their families, etc.

    SUPERVISES:

    N/A

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Must be able to safely lift, push, pull and move heavy equipment and supplies.

    JOB HAZARDS:

    Possible exposure to hazardous waste and/or infectious materials.


    EQUIPMENT USED IN COURSE OF WORK PERFORMED:

    General housekeeping equipment, including but not limited to vacuum, broom mop, various cleaning solutions, etc.

    OSHA COMPLIANCE, AWARENESS AND SAFETY ORIENTATION/ANNUAL EDUCATION. This includes but is not limited to:

    • Blood borne pathogens
    • Universal precautions
    • Right to know
    • Infection Control
    • T.B.
    • Hepatitis B
    • Needle stick
    • Safety
