Title: Pega Infrastructure Analyst
Locations: Minneapolis, MN
Duration: 06+ Months with Possible Extension.
Pay Range: $45-$50/Hour on W2/C2C (All inclusive)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Pega Infrastructure Analyst with strong expertise in Pega Platform Administration, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, Kafka, AWS OpenSearch, Helm, Docker, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). The ideal candidate will be responsible for modernizing the Pega infrastructure, implementing disaster recovery solutions, upgrading the Pega platform, and supporting containerized deployments in a cloud-native AWS environment.
The role requires extensive experience in Pega platform upgrades, Kubernetes administration, AWS services, deployment automation, and production infrastructure support to ensure scalability, resilience, and high availability.
Key Responsibilities
Pega Platform Administration & Upgrade
- Administer, maintain, and support enterprise Pega Platform environments.
- Plan and execute Pega Platform upgrades from Version 23 to Version 26.
- Perform compatibility assessments, dependency analysis, and remediation activities.
- Validate platform functionality, stability, and performance after upgrades.
- Provide production support and troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues.
Kafka Externalization & Disaster Recovery
- Design and implement Apache Kafka externalization for the Pega platform.
- Build and configure Active/Passive Disaster Recovery (DR) architecture.
- Implement replication, monitoring, and automated failover mechanisms.
- Conduct DR testing and document recovery procedures and runbooks.
- Ensure high availability and business continuity for messaging infrastructure.
AWS OpenSearch & Search Services
- Externalize Elasticsearch from the existing Pega deployment.
- Integrate Pega Search and Reporting Services (SRS) with AWS OpenSearch Service.
- Configure SRS running on Kubernetes (EKS) to communicate with OpenSearch.
- Validate indexing, search performance, scalability, and operational reliability.
Kubernetes & AWS EKS Administration
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot workloads running on Amazon EKS.
- Configure Kubernetes resources including:
- Pods
- Deployments
- Services
- Ingress Controllers
- Service Accounts
- RBAC
- Configure and manage AWS Application Load Balancers (ALB).
- Monitor cluster health and optimize Kubernetes platform performance.
Deployment Automation & DevOps
- Develop and maintain Helm Charts for Pega and supporting services.
- Build automated deployment pipelines using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
- Containerize applications using Docker and Pega-provided container images.
- Implement deployment standards, release management, rollback procedures, and environment-specific configurations.
- Support CI/CD pipeline improvements and deployment automation.
Production Support
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, networking, and application issues.
- Perform performance tuning and platform optimization.
- Maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, operational procedures, and knowledge transfer documents.
- Collaborate with development, DevOps, cloud, and infrastructure teams to ensure platform reliability.
Required Skills
- 8+ years of experience in Pega Infrastructure or Platform Administration.
- Strong experience administering and upgrading Pega Platform.
- Hands-on expertise with Apache Kafka architecture and Disaster Recovery implementation.
- Experience integrating Elasticsearch with AWS OpenSearch Service.
- Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Experience administering Amazon EKS and Kubernetes clusters.
- Expertise in Helm Chart development and Kubernetes deployments.
- Strong knowledge of Docker containerization.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) deployment pipelines.
- Experience configuring AWS Application Load Balancers (ALB).
- Strong troubleshooting, monitoring, and production support experience.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise cloud migration and modernization projects.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes networking and cluster security.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar.
- Experience working in highly available, mission-critical enterprise environments.
- AWS or Kubernetes certifications are a plus.
- Pega Certified System Architect (CSA) or Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) certification is desirable.
