Pediatric Respiratory Unit - Respiratory Therapist - $2210 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience:

• NICU and PICU experience required.
• Must have Level IV NICU experience.
• Must be competent in the use of both the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Cardiac PICU experience preferred.
• Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials:

• Any hit on your license must be disclosed. Hits will be sent to UVA leadership for approval prior to proceeding.

Special Requests:

• Travelers are not eligible to return after reaching 365 total assignment days, regardless of time away.

Unit Details:

• Neonate, infant, pediatric, and adolescent patient population.
• Children's hospital setting with a pediatric emergency department, Level IV NICU, and PICU.
• Complex congenital heart program caring for patients with congenital cardiac defects, including transplants and ECMO.
• Respiratory therapist care includes NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatrics.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
• Every other weekend. Every other holiday; must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays.
• Self-scheduling model; desired schedule is not guaranteed, but accommodations will be attempted.

Floating Requirements:

• Required to work in all units of the Children's Hospital.

3 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – 8th Edition)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

• RRT-ACCS (Adult Critical Care Specialty)
