What You’ll Do & Bring
As a Pediatric Registered Dental Assistant, you will assist the pediatric dentist in providing high-quality dental care while ensuring a safe, welcoming, and efficient clinical environment for children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the pediatric dentist chair-side during procedures and prepare operatories for treatment
- Take and process dental x-rays in accordance with safety standards
- Maintain and sterilize dental instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control policies
- Manage operatory supplies and support inventory tracking and ordering
- Support both clinical and administrative functions as needed
- Assist patients and parents by answering questions and providing guidance under provider direction
- Help children feel comfortable and at ease during visits through effective communication and rapport-building
- Monitor patient flow and ensure accurate and timely completion of patient records and documentation
- Handle incoming and outgoing calls related to patient care and clinic operations
- Ensure proper disposal of hazardous and contaminated materials in compliance with regulations
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE use and exposure control procedures
- Contribute to a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and high-quality patient care
What You Bring:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license with at least two years of pediatric experience
- Nitrous oxide certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Current radiology certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with children and families from diverse backgrounds
- Team-oriented mindset with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Professionalism, empathy, and the ability to manage sensitive situations
- Willingness to travel between clinic locations and work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed
