Pediatric Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant supports providers and nursing staff by performing clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient patient flow, high-quality care, and a positive patient experience. Greets patients on arrival, confirms patient information, assists patient with completing in-take/registration paperwork, verifies insurance or referral authorization notices, and collects co-payments.

SNI Companies is seeking experienced Medical Assistants to join a great organization in the Jacksonville, FL area! Active BLS certification required, CCMA/RMA certification preferred.

Job Summary
The Medical Assistant supports providers and nursing staff by performing clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient patient flow, high-quality care, and a positive patient experience. This position plays a vital role in patient safety, clinical accuracy, and compassionate care delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, update medication lists, allergies, and medical histories
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures
• Perform specimen collection, EKGs, injections, and point-of-care testing
• Administer medications and immunizations per provider orders
• Maintain sterile technique and follow infection-control protocols
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, and suture removal when applicable
• Assist with minor procedures and patient education
• Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Greets patients on arrival, confirms patient information, assists patient with completing in-take/registration paperwork, verifies insurance or referral authorization notices, and collects co-payments
• Assist with patient flow to reduce wait times and ensure efficient clinic operations
• Ensure all rooms are stocked, clean, and compliant with safety standards
• May perform routine clerical duties for the department- perform other general office and administrative duties, such as filing, receiving and sorting mail
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic policies at all times

Pay Rate:

• $18.00 - $20.00 an hour (increase after 90 days)

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program highly preferred
• BLS Certification required
• Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
• Knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times
• Must be able to pass background check and drug test

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM (on-site)
