Pay Range: Targeted salary $13.00/hour based on experience

Benefits Eligible: None

Work Schedule: 10am to 6:30pm or 10am to 2pm and 4pm to 8pm.

Position Introduction

PEAK Cook applicants for Couch Dining.

This position serves as a team member responsible for preparation, production and/or serving of food items, and other related tasks in the successful operation of Couch Dining.

Under direct supervision, plans and prepares menus, prepares food, and manages kitchen inventory.

  • Plans, develops, and assesses costs for menus. Prepares new recipes/entrees, salads and other menu items.
  • Monitors and maintains physical inventory weekly and/or monthly. Order produce and other food items on a daily basis.
  • Participates in ongoing skill development courses in order to stay abreast of the latest trends in the food service industry.
  • May prepare specialty foods, such as pizzas, fish and chips, sandwiches, or tacos, following specific methods that usually require short preparation time.
  • Cleans and maintains food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 12 months experience as a cook or graduate of culinary school.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to understand & convert measurements
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment & supplies
  • Ability to plan a health conscience menu.
  • Ability to interpret information.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to understand profit and loss statement.

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • Valid Safe Food Handling and Sanitation Certificate from the State of Oklahoma.

Department Preferences

  • Familiarity with preparation of gourmet and specialty type menu items. Some experience in menu planning and costing.
