    Overview

    A Houston-based private equity firm focused on providing formation capital for hard-asset and infrastructure platforms is looking to add an Associate to its investment team. The firm partners with experienced operators to build and scale businesses across sectors such as digital infrastructure, power, water, transportation, and other essential asset-heavy industries.

    This individual will sit at the center of the investment process, supporting sourcing, diligence, execution, and portfolio management, while gaining exposure to building asset-backed platforms from the ground up.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support full deal lifecycle including sourcing, screening, diligence, and execution
    • Build and maintain financial models (valuation, operating forecasts, return analyses, DCFs, sensitivities, and scenarios)
    • Evaluate opportunities through a durable-asset lens: low obsolescence, tangible collateral, downside protection, scalability, and long-term value creation potential
    • Assist with investment memos, IC materials, and decision-support documentation
    • Conduct market, company, sector, and competitive research to support new opportunities
    • Evaluate opportunities against market size, infrastructure need, revenue durability, collateral value, capital intensity, scalability, and exit potential
    • Support pipeline tracking, meeting preparation, and interaction with investors and operators
    • Monitor portfolio company performance, including KPIs, budgeting, and variance analysis
    • Help develop internal tools, dashboards, and processes to improve investment decision-making
    • Leverage technology and AI tools to enhance research, diligence, and reporting workflows

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or engineering
    • 3+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, infrastructure investing, or related field
    • Strong financial modeling and analytical skillset
    • Demonstrated interest in infrastructure, real assets, or asset-backed investing
    • Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly through written and verbal formats
    • High level of ownership, attention to detail, and intellectual curiosity
    • Collaborative mindset with the ability to operate in a lean, high-accountability environment
    • Interest in leveraging technology/AI to improve investment processes
