    Position Title: Clinical Lead Position Code: LeadRN-6004

    Position Purpose:

    Key Responsibilities [List of material responsibilities and essentials duties which must be completed in achieving the objectives of the position]

    Coordination of Nursing Personnel

    • Coordinates staffing for current and next shift for optimal productivity, taking into consideration patient acuity and staff expertise.
    • Delegates patient care activities to unit and ancillary staff.
    • Leads daily team huddles to provide accurate, consistent information to team members.
    • Demonstrates the ability to support staff with problem solving and decision making.
    • Assists with interviewing, hiring, and orientation of new employees.
    • Provide and manage constructive feedback.
    • Provides input regarding employee performance evaluations and competencies.
    • Attends huddles, clinical lead meetings, and LDI trainings.
    • Engages and communicates with staff to ensure consistency and standardization of information, including documentation of staff attendance (including personal attendance).

    Coordination of Patient Care Quality and Patient Satisfaction

    • Works with the Staffing/Supervisor Office to coordinate admissions to the floor.
    • Continually addresses workflow issues, as appropriate, to ensure patients are placed promptly and move smoothly through the hospital system.
    • Serves as a clinical resource to staff, assisting staff with patient admissions, discharges, and clinical tasks.
    • Attends Care Conferences on the Unit. Assists with ensuring appropriate patient referrals as needed.
    • Works with Unit Director in making daily patient rounds on Unit. Is responsive to patient / family requests.
    • Works to meet Patient, Physician and Staff Satisfaction goals by setting the example, using scripting, and contributing to teamwork on the unit.
    • Contribute to attainment of Nursing Division goal for patient satisfaction.

    Coordination of Nursing Process and Compliance

    • Provides evidence-based care so as to prevent the development of a Healthcare Acquired Condition and hospital readmissions.
    • Practices standard precautions during patient contact and while handling contaminated materials.
    • Complies with CDC hand hygiene guidelines and works to reduce hospital acquired infections and other conditions.
    • Serves as a clinical resource person and assists with educating the team on new medications, policies, and procedures
    • Assists with Performance Improvement activities on the unit.
    • Audits documentation to ensure nursing assessments, diagnoses, and plans of care meet compliance regulations and organizational goals, policies, and procedures.
    • Analyzes the assessment data to identify possible needs by staff, patients, and patient families.
    • Proactively supports staff to ensure our patients progress towards attainment of desired outcomes, including plan of care revisions, as necessary.

    Qualifications [Statements regarding minimum educational and experience qualifications, required proficiencies with specialized knowledge, computer proficiencies, military service, required certifications, etc.]

    Education: Associate degree in Nursing or graduate of a Nursing Diploma program.

    Licensure: Licensed and currently registered as an RN in the state of Arizona.

    Certification: Maintains BLS/ACLS/PALS through American Heart Association or American Red Cross, TNCC, De-escalation techniques, NRP, Basic EKG, and ESI, as required, per RN position description for assigned area(s).

    Experience: Minimum of 1 years experience as an RN.

    Preferences [Preferred attributes for the position which are not absolutely required in the minimum qualifications (i.e., multi-lingual, masters degree)]

    Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing

    Experience: Experience working in respective clinical area is desired

    • Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills.
    • Able to manage technical business equipment, i.e. phone, fax, computer etc.
    • Able to assist with the movement of an adult patient weighing up to 300 lbs.
    • Able to care for patients with infectious diseases.
    • Ability to sit for 3-5 hours per day.
    • Able to stand for 3-5 hours per day.
    • Ability to walk for 3-5 hours day.
    • Incumbent must be able to: distinguish appropriate colors
