Overview
Shift: Friday-Sunday; 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
As a Patient Care Technician & Patient Safety Companion, youll play a vital role in both the physical care and safety of patients. Youll provide compassionate bedside support, assist patients with daily care needs, and serve as an extra set of eyes to help ensure a safe healing environment. This unique role combines direct patient care with continuous patient observation, allowing you to build strong connections with patients while helping prevent injuries, reduce risks, and support quality outcomes.
This hybrid role provides flexibility to support patient care and patient safety observation needs. Assignments may vary between direct patient care and patient monitoring based on staffing and census demands.

Required (Upon Hire or Preferred):
Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B) certification
Accepted from: Iowa Department of Public Health (IADPH), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), or Wisconsin Department of Health Services (WI DHS)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) (preferred upon hire; required within 30 days)
Required Within 90 Days of Hire:
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training
Mandatory Reporter Training (as applicable to state of practice):
Child Abuse Reporting (IA and/or IL)
Dependent Adult Abuse Reporting (IA and/or IL)
