Job Details

Perform through-hole and/or surface-mount soldering on printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies.
Assemble, solder, modify, and rework PCB components according to drawings, work instructions, and engineering specifications.
Work to J-STD-001 standards and applicable workmanship requirements.
Perform soldering using microscopes, magnification equipment, soldering irons, hot air/rework equipment, and other hand tools.
Inspect solder joints and assemblies for proper workmanship, component placement, polarity, solder flow, and potential defects.
Perform component replacement, repair, and rework as needed.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, assembly instructions, and BOMs.
Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation.
Identify workmanship issues and communicate quality concerns to the appropriate team members.
Follow established ESD, safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to resolve assembly and soldering issues.
Meet established quality and production requirements while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Qualifications
4+ years of hands-on PCB/electronics soldering experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Current J-STD-001 certification preferred.
Candidates who have previously worked to J-STD-001 standards will also be considered.
Experience with through-hole and/or SMT soldering.
Ability to perform detailed soldering and rework under magnification.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and BOMs.
Familiarity with ESD-controlled manufacturing environments.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a production team.
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Aerospace, defense, medical device, electronics, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience is a plus.

Preferred Experience
IPC/J-STD-001 certification
IPC-A-610 familiarity or certification
Experience with PCB inspection and rework
Experience soldering fine-pitch components
Experience working under a microscope
Experience with aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability electronic assemblies
Experience working in an AS9100 or similarly regulated manufacturing environment
