PCB Layout Designer, Robotaxi, Autonomous Vehicles

The Tesla Circuit Board Layout team designs PCBs for all Tesla products: Robotaxi Autonomous Vehicles, Energy Storage, Optimus Humanoid Robots, and more.

• Design high volume circuit boards for all Tesla products by collaborating with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, in-circuit test (ICT), and supplier industrialization engineers
• Rapidly iterate as design requirements and product features mature over time
• Circuit board design in Altium (or equivalent) for high-volume production
• Design optimization for cost, manufacturability (IPC standards), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), heat dissipation, and high voltage (1500V)
• Layout of analog & digital circuits (MOSFETs, op-amps, switching regulators, gate drivers, microcontrollers, communication buses, etc.)
• Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Familiarity with the following; PCB materials, cost-drivers, manufacturing process (DFM), and stackups, Creating schematic symbols and footprints in Altium Vault (component librarian), High-density technologies: Fine-pitch packages, BGAs, and via technology (vippo, micro, blind, buried), High-speed digital communication layout (up to 10GHz) and Radio Frequency (RF) layout, Rigid-flex and flexible PCBs, Altium tools: CoDesigner, Server, 3D tools, constraint manager, net classes, variants, and rooms, Automotive design requirements, Cadence Allegro, and Product Lifecycle Management tools (such as Enovia) and ticketing tools (such as JIRA)

Expected Compensation

$108,000 - $259,200/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
