PCB Layout/ CAD Engineer

Location: Naperville, IL (Onsite)
Schedule: First Shift
Salary: $75,000–$95,000

Position Summary 
We are seeking a motivated PCBA Layout / CAD Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate, technical school graduate, or someone with foundational CAD experience who is interested in printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) design and electronic packaging. 
The successful candidate will work closely with electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineers to create, modify, and maintain PCB layouts, component libraries, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in electronic design, PCB layout, and advanced packaging technologies. 

Key Responsibilities 

·        Create and modify PCB layouts using industry-standard CAD tools. 

·        Generate and maintain schematic and PCB component libraries. 

·        Prepare fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing documentation packages. 

·        Assist engineers with PCB floor planning, component placement, and routing. 

·        Verify designs for compliance with company standards and manufacturing requirements. 

·        Review PCB designs for design rule check (DRC) and manufacturability. 

·        Update engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and revision-controlled documents. 

·        Support prototype builds and engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs). 

·        Coordinate with fabrication and assembly vendors as needed. 

·        Maintain organized project documentation and database records. 

Required Qualifications 

·        Associate degree, technical diploma, or bachelor's degree in Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, Drafting/CAD, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 

·        Basic understanding of printed circuit boards and electronic components. 

·        Familiarity with CAD software such as:  

o   Altium Designer 

o   Cadence Allegro 

o   Mentor Graphics 

o   Similar PCB design tools 

·        Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation. 

·        Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 

·        Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. 

·        Effective written and verbal communication skills.
