Description

PGS Worldwide is seeking a PCB Hardware Engineer in Owego, NY for an approximately nine-month contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform PCB design, provide build support, and conduct engineering verification and checkout of RF and digital circuit card assemblies (CCAs). The engineer will combine hands-on hardware troubleshooting and testing with MATLAB-based test development for advanced Electronic Warfare products.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9–15 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 7–13 years of relevant experience.
  • 4–6 years of circuit design experience.
  • 4–6 years of experience troubleshooting and testing electronic circuit card assemblies.
  • Hands-on PCB design experience.
  • 1–2 years of experience with Siemens Xpedition.
  • 1–2 years of MATLAB experience.
  • 1–2 years of test automation experience.
  • Experience performing hands-on engineering verification and checkout of RF and digital CCAs.
  • Familiarity with RF measurement and test equipment, including signal generators, vector network analyzers (PNAs), and spectrum analyzers.
  • Ability to support hardware builds and troubleshoot circuit card issues in a laboratory environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform PCB design activities for electronic hardware systems.
  • Provide engineering support during circuit card and hardware builds.
  • Coordinate and perform engineering verification and checkout of RF and digital circuit card assemblies.
  • Troubleshoot and test CCAs to identify and resolve hardware issues.
  • Create and update MATLAB scripts supporting engineering checkout and testing.
  • Develop and support automated test capabilities for electronic hardware.
  • Use RF laboratory equipment such as signal generators, PNAs, and spectrum analyzers to evaluate hardware performance.
  • Support verification activities for RF and digital electronics used in Electronic Warfare applications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams throughout hardware build, integration, and test activities.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • Approximately 5 hours of overtime per week required.

Pay

  • $60.00–$72.00 per hour
