About the Role:

ComForCare Home Health Care (North San Diego) is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support individuals with high functioning intellectual disabilities in living their best lives. Responsibilities:

• Providing companionship and engaging activities
• Using positive, person-centered behavioral support
• Helping schedule and manage appointments
• Assist clients with in daily living activities and community integration
• Implement individualized care plans and document client progress and observations
• Encourage client independence and skill development through positive reinforcement
• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, and recreational activities
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, family members, and care team members regarding client needs

Requirements:

• Prior experience as a PCA, DSP (Direct Support Professional), caregiver, or in a related role preferred
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) strongly preferred
• Genuine patience, empathy, and a person-centered approach to care
• Ability to pass a background check and meet state compliance requirements
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
• CPR/First Aid certification is a plus

Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
