The PBX Operator answers all incoming calls with efficiency and professionalism.
BASIC FUNCTION: The PBX Operator answers all incoming calls with efficiency and professionalism. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of company policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Must have High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).
Must have pleasant speaking voice
Must have excellent written and verbal skills.
Must be able to type accurately (30 words per minute).
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age to work in the Casino in a non-sensitive area.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.
Must work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
Must have the ability to work in a multi-tasked environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Keeps up to date with knowledge of multi-line phone system.
Conducts arrangement of all guests' requests in a professional manner.
Completes all necessary projects within specified time frames.
Answers incoming telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
Routes incoming telephone calls to the appropriate department in a quick and efficient manner.
If the caller if seeking information about the Resort, the PBX operator will look up appropriate information and provide information in a quick and efficient manner.
Responds to inquiries about outlets and room locations. Resort offerings and local area information.
Keeps up to date with knowledge of phone system.
Conducts all guests' special requests in a professional manner.
Completes documents as directed and to specifications.
Performs other duties as reasonably requested by Management.

By the mid-1990s, French Lick Spring Hotel, although still in operation, was a mere shell of its former glory and the abandoned West Baden Springs Hotel was literally crumbling to the ground. As with any great comeback story, it all started with people who refused to give up - local volunteers and the folks at Indiana Landmarks. Seeing West Baden Springs Hotel in a state of ruin devastated the group, whose mission is saving such cherished properties. Soon the Cook family, devoted preservationists who themselves led the restoration of many Indiana buildings, joined the cause and committed more than $600 million dollars to not only save West Baden Springs Hotel but also French Lick Springs Hotel. The Cooks wanted their preservation work to result in living, breathing historic places that would be around for centuries to come. Today, 1.1 million guests visit French Lick Resort annually to experience this "save of the century."
