Description

Scope:

 

Provides central communications point for hotel operations through answering all incoming hotel phone calls in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Ø  Provides courteous, efficient telephone service to guests and public; accurately records messages and promptly notifies guest or hotel employees.

Ø  Provides wake-up calls to guest rooms.

Ø  Provides guest with local directions and general information in a courteous and accurate manner.

Ø  Maintains an accurate listing with current status of all registered guests.

Ø  Records incoming packages, mail or faxes and promptly notifies guests.

Ø  Acts as central communications point during emergency situations by having thorough knowledge of safety and security procedures and having phone numbers of local fire, police, poison control, etc.

Ø  Operates in-house paging system as well as base communications with security and maintenance departments.

Ø  Respond quickly to guest requests or complaints in a friendly manner.  Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.

Ø  Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.

Ø  Follows company policies and procedures.

 

Note:  Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Internal:         All hotel departments:  To deliver messages

                

External:         Hotel guests              :  To deliver messages.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Experience:   Basic reading and writing skills with some prior switchboard experience preferred.

Certification and/or License Requirement:  None.

 

Skills: 

            Interpersonal skills     

            Oral communication skills

 

Working Conditions:

  Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidays.

  Will be required to work in fast paced environment.

  May be asked to work overtime.
