    Description

    NextStep Recruiting has partnered with a growing manufacturing organization to identify a Payroll Tax & GL Reconciliation Specialist in McKinney, TX. This role is primarily onsite with limited remote flexibility and will support high-volume, multi-state payroll processing, tax administration, and payroll-related accounting for an organization of approximately 1,000 employees.


    This position is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys a blended payroll and accounting role, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings strong systems knowledge and attention to detail.


    Required:

    • Hands-on Paylocity experience; this is an absolute requirement
    • Multi-state payroll experience supporting a large employee population, including weekly and biweekly payroll cycles
    • Experience processing wage garnishments, child support orders, benefits deductions, and other payroll adjustments
    • Experience with payroll journal entries, GL reconciliations, and payroll-related accounting
    • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, functions, lookups, and data analysis


    Preferred:

    • Experience preparing and filing multi-state sales and use tax returns
    • Background within manufacturing, construction, or another project-based environment
    • Experience supporting payroll system implementations, conversions, or go-live initiatives
    • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
    • CPP certification
